We'll explore both the backroads of history and the backroads of the Western Mojave and Sequoia National Forest. Beginners welcome!.
WHAT: Looking for an early fall weekend getaway? This is the trip! From the high desert near Mojave to the blue waters of Lake Isabella, explore backroad byways. Discover a historic past of Indians, miners, loggers and pioneers. We’ll follow the route of last June's Piute Passage through Jawbone and Alpha Canyons into Keels Valley, and across the Piute Mountains in the Sequoia National Forest. Before the sun dips behind the Greenhorn Mountains, we'll arrive in the resort town of Kernville.
Like the Arrowhead trip, we'll sit down to a nice meal at an area restaurant. Sunday’s diversions are up to you. Get up early and fish, sleep in and go shopping. Play golf is you must. We'll have an optional 4WD group activity which will conclude in the early afternoon.
