Big Bear Adventure

Enjoy Relaxing High Mountain Trails

Big Bear Lake, CA - June 13-14, 1997

The Big Bear Adventure is a brand-new trip for 1997 at Big Bear Lake, a resort community in the San Bernardino National Forest 95-miles east of Los Angeles. The trails, forged by old prospectors, provide varying degrees of difficulty that challenge both novice and experienced four wheelers.

Big Bear Adventure explores1860 gold-discovery trails in peaceful Holcomb Valley, rich in the sagas of early gold mining camps. You'll take in the spectacular meadow where the opening scenes for the Bonanza TV series were shot, see Hangman's Tree, Rose Mine, Hitchcock Ranch, Boulder Bay, Pigmy Cabin and Tip Top Mountain. You will view the best preserved gold mining areas in the San Bernardinos.

Each evening the group will return to headquarters at the shore of Big Bear Lake. The adventure will leave plenty of time to shop Alpine Village's unique shops, visit the solar observatory or take in Alpine Slide and Moonridge Animal Park. Motels and camping are available for your journey to the Lake surrounded by granite boulders and tall pine trees.
