Desert Rose Inn

The Desert Rose Inn is located in the heart of historic Bluff, Utah; originally the home of Mormon pioneer, Jens Nielson, and is currently listed on the Historic Register. Recently renovated, this elegant two-story home was built in the early 1890's. Constructed from large sandstone blocks chiseled from the surrounding red bluffs, The Desert Rose Inn Survives among a handful of the original Victorian Style homes built by the Mormon "Hole-In-The-Rock" pioneers.

Enjoy a spectacular sunset on towering red-rock cliffs; stroll through the Historic District; go back in time with the Mormon pioneers who constructed magnificent Victorian sandstone homes in their new colony of Bluff. Savor the ambiance of days gone by.

Bluff's environment offers numerous options for outdoor activities including hiking, biking and archaeology. The surrounding canyons are dotted with ancient Anasazi ruins and significant rock art panels.

The Desert Rose Inn, centrally located in the Four-Corners area, is surrounded by a vast concentration of natural wonders. Mesa Verde National Park, Natural Bridges National Monument, Lake Powell, Canyon DeChelly National Monument, Navajo National Monument, and Monument Valley Tribal Park are readily accessible.

The San Juan River flows along at the base of cliffs to form Bluff's southern boundary and provides an excellent opportunity for relaxation while rafting to Mexican Hat and Lake Powell. This stretch of river has some of the most scenic rock formations and outstanding wildlife habitat to be found in scenic Southeastern Utah. Big horn sheep watch from the cliff's edge; eagles soar over head as boats slip silently down the San Juan.

The newly remodeled Desert Rose Inn invites you to enjoy comfortable rooms with private, in-room baths, queen-size beds, a variety of contemporary and antique furnishings as well as Native American Art. We welcome you to share our old fashioned hospitality.
