bsrt6.jpg (5284 bytes) Trip Logistics

The Rubicon Trail is not the place to be when you remember you forgot a very import item.   This section of the guide has been developed to help you plan for and carry the important things you will need on the trail.

bsrt7.jpg (5677 bytes) Trail Etiquette and Safety

When driving the Rubicon Trail, special "rules of the road" should be followed.  You will be driving one of the most magnificent areas of California.   You are expected to leave only footprints or tire tracks.  You will also be suing a trail that in some places isn't even wide enough for your vehicle, let alone two vehicles.

bsrt8.jpg (4647 bytes) Forest Service Rules and Regulations

Most of the Rubicon Trail crosses land managed or protected by the USDA Forest Service.  In an effort to preserve and protect the lands under their jurisdiction they have established rules for those who use the land.

bsrt9.jpg (5568 bytes) General (Forest Service) Maps of the Trail

In this section of the guide you will find a series of maps that cover the full length of the Rubicon Trail, from Georgetown to Lake Tahoe.

bsrt10.jpg (4744 bytes) Trail Notes and Topographic Maps

Detailed annotated color topographic maps from USGS 7 1/2' quadrangle topographic maps, aerial photos (some in 3D), color pictures (again some in 3D) and detailed information describing over 40 sites along the way.
